The scheme objective is to provide a level of income consistent with liquidity through investments made primarily in money-market and debt securities. Low Duration Funds maintain a portfolio of high-rated debt and money market instruments. Since the portfolio has a Macaulay duration of around 6 to12 months, these funds try to achieve a balance of safety, liquidity and yield.
The scheme will maintain a judicious mix of cash, short term and medium term instruments. Sundaram Low Duration Fund - Direct Plan is mandated to invest in bonds such that the duration of the portfolio is between six to twelve months, and therefore it is suitable to invest in for a similar time frame.
