Investment Objective and Approach

HSBC Mid Cap Fund aims to generate capital appreciation by investing primarily in midcap stocks, with the scheme investing primarily in companies whose market capitalization falls between the highest and the lowest constituent of the Nifty Free Float Midcap 100 Index. The fund seeks to generate long-term capital growth from an actively managed portfolio primarily of equity and equity related securities, investing in Indian equities, foreign equities and related instruments and debt securities.

The fund follows a disciplined investment approach based on fundamental research. The equity investment process comprises three stages – Stock selection, Stock analysis and Portfolio construction, using a combination of quantitative and qualitative filters to arrive at an investable universe of stocks. Stock ideas are evaluated based on three key parameters: Quality of Business, ESG and Valuation.

Fund Managers

Venugopal Manghat is the current Fund Manager of HSBC Mid Cap Fund. Mr. Manghat holds a B.Sc (Mathematics) and MBA (Finance). Prior to joining HSBC Mutual Fund, he has worked with L&T Mutual Fund and Tata Asset Management Ltd.
