The scheme seeks to generate long-term capital appreciation from a portfolio that is invested predominantly in equity and equity related securities of companies engaged in banking and financial services. It allocates a minimum of 80% of its assets to stocks in the relevant sector, i.e., banking and financial services, and balances this with up to 20% in equities of companies in other sectors, debt and/or money market instruments.
The fund follows a sectoral investment approach focusing specifically on the banking and financial services sector. The primary objective is to create long-term wealth by investing in stocks from the banking and financial services sector across different market capitalisations. The fund aims to achieve its objective by making both equity and equity-related investments in the sector.
Given its concentrated sectoral approach, this makes it a very high-risk investment option, but the fund also has significant potential for wealth creation.
