The Company was formerly known as "The Andhra Bank Ltd." and following the nationalization of Andhra Bank on 15.04.1980, the Company's name was changed to Lakshmi Finance & Industrial Corporation Limited. Since then, the company has been involved in various financial activities including leasing, hire purchase, bill discounting, and corporate finance.

The company is a Non-Deposit Accepting Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) registered as an Investment Company with the Reserve Bank of India and is engaged in the business of investment in Equity Shares, Mutual Funds, and Other Securities. It finances various sectors, such as active pharmaceutical ingredients (bulk drugs), engineering works, manufacturing units, trading units, realty, construction, information technology (IT)/software, infrastructure, and medical and health.

Stock Exchange Listing

The Company was listed on Hyderabad Stock Exchange until 2006. Later, as Hyderabad Stock Exchange was derecognised, the Company continued its listing on the Madras Stock Exchange. SEBI sought voluntary surrender of recognition of Madras Stock Exchange, and the company exited before the deadline of 30th May 2014. The Company made an application to the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) for listing, and after complying with the Listing requirements of NSE, the Company's shares got listed on NSE effective from 15.04.2015.
