Force Motors Ltd is an Indian multinational automotive manufacturing company, based in Pune. Founded in 1958 by Shri Navalmal Kundanmal Firodia, Force Motors Limited was established with the vision of contributing to the development of modern India through industrialization. From 1958 until 2005, the company was known as Bajaj Tempo Motors because it originated as a joint venture between Bajaj Auto and Germany's Tempo for manufacturing auto components.
Today, Force Motors is a fully integrated automobile company specializing in the design, development, and manufacturing of vehicles, aggregates, and components catering to the diverse customer needs globally. The company's quarterly results for Q4 FY25 showed remarkable growth with net profit of Force Motors rose 209.93% to ₹434.71 Crore in the quarter ended March 2025, as against ₹140.26 Crore during the previous quarter ended March 2024. Sales rose 17.14% to ₹2,356.01 Crore in the quarter ended March 2025, as against ₹2,011.21 Crore during the previous quarter ended March 2024.

The Gurkha lineup includes both three-door and five-door variants, with the Force Gurkha 5-door being powered by the same 2.6-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine but now produces 132bhp and 320Nm of torque. It is mated to a six-speed manual and with a full-time 4WD system with shift on the fly and locking differentials.
Over the last six decades, it has partnered with global manufacturers, such as Mercedes, BMW, Rolls Royce Daimler, ZF, Bosch, VW, Traton, and MAN, for manufacturing auto components. This plant was designed and built to the specification of Daimler-Benz. In 1997, Daimler asked it to set up a dedicated facility for assembling and testing engines for Mercedes passenger cars to be made in India.
The company has been focusing on expanding its product portfolio and strengthening its market position. The company launched a completely new platform of vans, an extension of the Traveller range and branded the 'Urbania' as a high segment niche product. Additionally, the company introduced the high-tech 33- and 41-seater lightweight monocoque buses, which they claim are a global first with a weight advantage of approximately 1 tonne compared to competitors.
Looking ahead, Force Motors plans to introduce electric variants of its entire van portfolio in a phased manner, starting with the Traveller, with a new variant being launched every six months. Also, an electric version of Urbania is expected to get rolled out by end of next year.
The company has also streamlined its operations by the Force Motors Board has decided to log out of its tractor business with effect from March 31, 2024. The decision to exit the tractor business is part of its product rationalization program.
