Line Pipes Division

Welspun Corp Limited is engaged in the business of manufacturing steel products and plastic products, particularly focusing on the production and coating of high-grade submerged arc welded pipes, hot rolled steel plates and coils. The company offers SAWL, SAWH, and HFW pipes, and ductile iron pipes for water infrastructure needs.

Ductile Iron Pipes

The company has forayed into manufacturing Ductile Iron (DI) Pipes at its state-of-the-art Greenfield facility in Anjar, Gujarat, with high-end DI pipes extensively used in potable water transmission to cater to the growing water infrastructure requirements in the country. In 2020, Welspun Corp entered the DI pipes business with an installed capacity of 500,000 tonnes at its Anjar facility, which was commissioned in July of the same year.

Building Materials and Plastic Products

The company acquired Sintex-BAPL, a market leader in water tanks and other plastic products, to expand its building materials portfolio. In March 2023, the company acquired Sintex, a water tank manufacturer, for Rs 1,251 crores, as part of its strategy to expand its building materials portfolio. The company's industrial and construction materials lineup includes TMT rebars (8mm to 32mm), pig iron, stainless steel, and alloy products for automotive, energy, defense, nuclear power, and aerospace industries, while also providing water tanks and uPVC interiors for home applications.

Strategic Initiatives and Expansion Plans

Capacity Expansion

At Anjar, the existing Spiral facility will be upgraded to a hybrid Spiral and LSAW setup with the same total capacity of 350 KMTPA, at a cost of ₹125 crores, with completion targeted for March 2026. Additionally, a new state-of-the-art hot induction bends facility is being developed at Anjar to produce 1,500-2,000 specialized bends per year, at an investment of ₹90 crores, expected by June 2026.

Furthermore, a new coating plant with a capacity of 3 million square meters per annum will be established at the Bhopal manufacturing site, costing ₹40 crores, and is anticipated to be operational by December 2025.

Recent Order Wins

Since May 7, 2025, Welspun Corp has secured additional orders worth about ₹450 crores for its India facility, to be executed in FY26 & FY27. The company announced a repeat export order for 50 km of LSAW pipes and bends for a critical offshore project in the Middle East, and also secured additional orders worth ₹450 crores for its India pipes facility, to be executed in FY26 and FY27.
